When is Shavuot in 2016 and 2017?

When is Shavuot in 2016 and 2017?

The holiday of Shavuot falls on the Hebrew calendar dates of Sivan 6–7. Here are the coinciding secular dates for the upcoming years:

2016:   June 11–13

2017:   May 30–June 1

Note: The Jewish calendar date begins at sundown of the night beforehand. Thus all holiday observances begin at sundown on the secular dates listed, with the following day being the first full day of the holiday. Jewish calendar dates conclude at nightfall.

Shavuot thoughts
I do hope that you will decide to include this Christian comment as we also believe in your biblical festivals and believe that they have enormous significance for all of us . The Israelite nation were commanded to bring the firstfruits of their crops at Shavuot . The first Christian believers were filled with the Holy Spirit at Shavuot (Pentecost) after they had been told by Jesus to wait in Jerusalem . The period of waiting equates to the days of counting of the Omer . As we give ourselves to God and wait upon Him , HE gives back to us . I read that Shavuot was traditionally the birth-date of King David . Just as a point of interest - Does anybody know if June 8th. in 1967 coincided with Shavuot ? - the date when Jerusalem came back to Israel - nothing happens by chance .
