Is G-d in Heaven?

People imagine that since G‑d is not physical, therefore He must be in heaven. But the heavens—and all things spiritual—are just as much creations as the earth. Less dissonant, more harmonious, more lucid—but finite realms nonetheless.

G‑d is not found in a place because it is big enough to contain Him or so magnificent that He belongs there. G‑d is found in whatever place He desires. And where does He desire most to be found? In the work of our hands, repairing His world.

The heavens are filled with spiritual light. In the work of our hands dwells G‑d Himself, the Source of All Light.

Of course He, Baruch Hu, can be everywhere
Karim, even when you disagree, G-d can be everywhere at the same time, if He desires so. Of course we cannot give him a "gender", does it sound better, when we say "She"? And He can be with everyone of us in a special way, because every one of us is special for Him. We speak of Him in human terms, because we humans do not have other terms. Important is, that we know this, and always remember, that He is greater than everything we say of Him or think of Him.

G-d in heaven
i LOVE the fact that we can serve G-d with work we do with our own hands. my mom told me once, "you see these hands? G-d gave them to me and i want to make Him proud!...' i follow my mother's feelings most definitely. Rabbi can you please explain "finite" in the sentence...
"But the heavens—and all things spiritual—are just as much creations as the earth. Less dissonant, more harmonious, more lucid—but FINITE realms nonetheless."
i really never knew that 'heavens' wherever that is, and all things spiritual were actually finite! thank you

Based on letters and talks of the Rebbe, Rabbi M.
Brother, you quoted something which was good but the structure of it i must disagree with.
By placing God onto a finite position and giving a gender to the creator (Him)....You have dictated the presentation from your perceptive into the human terms of the Creator.
//G‑d is found in whatever place He desires.//
God that is in all is everywhere and not in one space of our concept of time. For if God 'Desires' (another human term) to be at one place in that position then God by all technicality and relative science cannot be at all the other place (wherever that is)

GOD/Heaven
It can be seen anywhere and everywhere, even on earth. Heaven on earth is when one makes it as such or sees another do wonderful mitzvahs before ones eyes which are so good. The goodness which exists in every human being being or in just G~d's creation and even in yourself, everywhere. Everyday we must give to G~d Almighty at all times.
You can see in wonderful rabbis teachings with great love, in any person who sincerely love other human beings regardless of background.
One can see in your family as they gather in homes to celebrate Shabbat or whatever occasion which is of G~d's holiness, and in the kindest words which one speaks to others and even to animals.
Now you can think about all the others and name the ones I didn't mentioned.

The Infinite Light is near to us.
I makes me happy to know, that God, the Infinite Light, can be wherever He wants to be. All at the same moment. Filling the heaven with his Light , as well as being with us unimportant creatures of Him. Smiling at us, because He loves everyone of us, especially, when we fulfill his commandments and live as He wants us to live, What are His commandments? To repair the world, make it a better place to live in. And I am sure, He is with us,, even when we are not successfull and try over and over again. He loves us. - Baruch Hu! -

Is G-d in Heaven?
I love the strength and faith you have in allowing commentary of the readers. My thoughts may be interesting and I appreciate the dialogue.

I believe that G-d's light is in the "world" as well as in heaven. The quantum phsics view of the world complements the "light" which G-d said into existence. They speculate that a mere cubic centimeter of "nothingness" (ein sof perhaps) of space contains more energy than the totality of all the stars and other "matter" in the universe. Perhaps the letters yud resh aleph (which I believe are grossly mistranslated as fear... or not translated) is REALLY the Quantum Observer.

I look forward to your daily commentary and would like the opportunity to see you in Miami Beach as a visiting sage.

Thanks

Exactly where is heaven? What part of the universe is it in?
