Know Your Strength

From your challenges you may know your strengths.

You did not make yourself. You did not choose your parents, nor did you design the environment that nurtured you.

The One who brought you to this world, who knew you before you were conceived and who fashioned you in the womb -- He knew intimately all the challenges you would meet, your faults, your struggles. He was the one who designed they should be there.

And for each brick wall, He provided you a ladder. For each chasm a bridge. For each mountain a deep reserve of superhuman strength to surprise even your own self.

When one of those challenges arises, you need only imagine what it must take to overcome -- and you can be confident that strength is within you.

Be Within Stay Above
I ask G-d for strength, courage and wisdom to carry out His plan for me. I try hard to do the things advised and yet, at times I feel totally impotent to face the many barriers I must climb.
I feel lost;then I notice a beautiful morning that reminds me to thank G-d for what I have been given.

it speaks to me on a profound spiritual level. what I cannot get passed is the part of the ladder. I think I am cliimbing the ladder but I t seems I am stuck at the bottom rungs. Why? That is the question I ask G-d everyday. What is it I did and what is it I need to do for a "tikkun" for my soul or my present misdeeds. When does that end? How do I know what to do?

My Inner Strength
Reading this piece gives me the strength to continue each hour of each day.

It simply puts into perspective why we are here and how to move forward.

Thank you for such a touching and important piece!!!!

Re: This seems so contrary to everything I believe
Does it say that the other person has everything he needs? The message is to you. When a person comes to you with a challenge, you have what it needs to help that person. In many cases, you need to tell the person that s/he has the capabilities inside to deal with this, and that is all they need to hear.

But sometimes you need to shed a tear as Moses did and say, "G_d, how could You have done this to this soul that You sent down here?" And then, do everything you can to help. Read The Heresy of Kindness.

When He Plans Your Life To Be Difficult & Painful
I do find some resonance with the post of the day. I just find that I have an unusually large amount of challenges and struggles, and I am sure, at least the usual amount of faults, as well. I also find that my "ladders" and "bridges" are much steeper or more difficult to get across than most people's are, or most people can get across them, but I seem to have an uphill struggle constantly. This is so painful to have to keep on overcoming, year after year, no matter what "I need only imagine," I am still so very unhappy, and in emotional and physical pain, and also so very lonely. What if He provided the right things, but I can't find the right key to using them or getting across?? What do I do now??

This seems so contrary to everything I believe
I usually find a lot of resonance with the wisdom posted here, but sometimes it completely misses the mark. I am a social worker and I see some of the horrible things that even very small and innocent children go through, and many do not survive either physically or emotionally. Or consider the Holocaust if you want. I cannot and will not believe that G-d is responsible for this. I worked with a woman who was a crack addict and she SOLD her three year old son to child pornographers so she could get some money.... where was G-d in that? If he is still alive, that boy is a teenager now, and he is supposed to believe that this was a Divine plan? Give me a break!

Know your strength-Mastering your world
Beautifully stated! How do you convey this to an atheist? How is this translated for a teen or young adult to appreciate?

Thank-you!!!!!!!
WOW! Thank-you SO much! This is perfect - I just love it! He is such a loving Father & knows we need the challanges... but He gives us the inner fortitude to grow, to find that ladder... We just have to trust and to search for it - that there is an answer... there is a way out and we will become who we are to be in the process! It truly is a birth process!
