Who This Really Is

What you see of a person, you may not like.

Yet who this person really is, you can never know.

As for the G‑dly soul inside—it is the unknowable itself.

Speak to that: Look past the outer shell and talk to the unknowable inside. Only from there can come real change.

knowing
When you come across a menace, don't think twice and run in the opposite direction. Leave it to the government systems such as the prison psychiatrist or mental ward to figure out what is going on inside.

Look in the Mirror
When you see someone you don't like you are looking at yourself in a mirror. For every Jew is part of one family, and each of us serve as both an insipiration and mirror for each other. As has been saiid, "the lady doth protest too much." What we criticize in others is often wiithin ourselves.

Teaching on Prayer
For 5 months in 2009 I taught weekly on prayer. In hindsight I realize I spoke to the inner core of each member of my class. It was the inner core in each person that looked back at me and encouraged me to feed it with truth. That encouragement enabled me to teach from my own inner core. This is how G-d communicates His truth to human souls.

Speaking From Our Own Inner Core
May each of us speak from our own inner core to the inner core of the person to whom we are speaking. What a difference this would make! Authentic communication is possible only when we do so. This is how true love is expressed.

Who This Really Is
This verse initially appears to address third party, another person. Though in conclusion, it appears to address oneself. Should this verse be addressed to oneself for change, I do not understand how an individual can look past its outer shell, because each one of us, presumably fully comprehends ourselves. As the saying goes,' from abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh'. Hence there are ways to understand 'a person', not necessarily appearances.
Have I misunderstood the verse?
