Waking Up G‑d

A spark of G‑d slumbers within, as a flame hushed within the embers.

Will she awaken from ideas? They are only more dreams to sleep by.

Will she awaken from deep thoughts? Their depth will not reach her.

She will awaken when she sees her Beloved, the Essence of All Things with which she is one.

And where will she see Him? Not in ideas, not in deep thoughts, but in a G‑dly deed that she will do, in an act of infinite beauty.

Then her flame will burn bright.

this explanation is a little troublesome, but does make me wonder: first, i had a problem reconciling it to the liturgy that teaches that G-d never slumbers or sleeps. this, the lesson states, is "a spark of G-d." does it mean spark of G-dliness, as G-d is inseperable? i took it to mean the "pintele yid," that spark of the jewish soul, created formed and sustained within us by G-d. this "spark" can be awakened not only by the doing of an act by the person, which seems to indicate that the spark is already awakened, but by the recognition or witnessing of a G-dly act performed by another. when an act of kindness is performed either for us or which affects us, it awakens this within us and, we hope, in all of the people of Israel.

Waking Up G-d
The title does not go with a the body. I think you talk about a condition of a human being who should be waking up from ideology and imagination to actively live the work of the day. The Holy One of Israel does not slumber nor sleep. And thank you when you refer to mankind I see you hope for all to inspiration even destruction manner of many can exhaust us.
