Yes, it is the same madness.

When the police investigate a crime against someone, the first people they always suspect are-

'the loved ones'; the spouses, then the brothers and sisters, then the children, and so on.

This is also true in crimes involving Jews (there are numerous famous cases that come to mind).

And the guilty in these cases usually try to evade detection by-

hiding behind the mask of 'normalcy'.

Yes, sometimes 'normal' isn't enough.

How 'normal' is it to do acts of chesed and tzedekah, especially to the extent that you and your fellow Chabadniks often do it (and for all sorts of people, good and not-so-bad)?

But they can be beautiful and do much to counter the ugly in the world.

We should all differentiate between the supra-rational and the irrational: When we go from an 'ugly absurdity' to something with a better view, it is not senseless bound!

Like the madness heard before going to Purim Festival last night... War broke out in a country, while we celebrate Haman madness long in the past? Albeit my madness in the things pertaining to G-d, for although, not knowing what I am, know where I'm going in the madness of the spiritual realm. All I need is calm, for in the path set-up, the All Knowing, All Sufficient, G-d, knows where my madness stand.
Divine Madness fan.

At first glance the knee jerk reaction is ' Hey wait a minute. At the end of the sixth day G-d looked at the world and said that it was ' good. ' By that i figured 'good' was perfect because how would G-d create something imperfect.

Then i considered the context. Purim. G-d did not create the absurd madness of the minds of Amalek and Haman and those of that ilk or followers thereof. Purim is based on an absurd and ugly/demented mind, but G-d steps in via Mordechai and Esther to give us a chain/result of ' Divine Madness ' ... a ' beautiful absurdity '.

It's a terrific meditation we can take from Purim, how G-d takes our backs. On Purim He was timely for us. ( The trick is not to allow in thoughts of other events where His timing seems questionable. ) It's all about Purim, a time for joy and joyous meditation.

Divine Madness as opposed to any other madness, always boils down for me as supra-rational or even irrational belief in G-d, one way or another.

In the drama of life/Purim we wear the mask of tragedy/evil/Haman/absurdity. We also wear the mask of Divine comedy/G-dliness/Divine Madness. When our children stomp their feet and make a loud racket at the mention of Haman's name during the Megillah slide show, the reverberations stamp out the seeds of Eisav/Amalek/Haman/evil doers. G-d Himself could not bring himself to wipe out the Jews at Sinai. These others have no chance. Still, vigilance is our part of that covenant.
