Lasting Peace

Lasting peace is not created by intellectuals, for their minds are easily bribed from within and from without. Nor by those who follow their faith blindly, for at times their blindness wreaks havoc.

Lasting peace is the achievement of those who have made peace between the rigor of their mind and the simplicity of their faith. Their faith is firmly anchored beyond the whims of this world, and their mind sees clearly that proper results are achieved.

I Agree
Outside of blind faith is a wonderful place of social harmony where I have found my identity strongest among Jews. Irrational mitzvahs appear to open the gates of hell (on earth). I have strong feelings against those that act simply because they can say, "It is written in here in the Torah, and by that I am justified." Supra rationality dictates that Jews are chosen and superior (royalty), and that sort of exclusion gives me no joy, but experiencing the joy of inclusion in Jewish chit chat with a couple Israelis outside a bar and learning a new Hebrew word achieves these "proper results."

Lasting Peace
This could not be a more appropriate idea. I've seen first hand that pure intellectualism cannot bring peace of the mind, the soul, or the situation. Intellectualsim without faith is a recipe for little common sense and the ability to get nothing done that matters. Faith without intellegence is the antethesis of what G-d call us to do. The balance of both are one of the ultimate gifts G-d brings to us.
