Gourmet Passover Recipes

The seder is the ultimate culinary performance. The stage is set, the audience is seated at your table, the curtain rises, and the spotlight is on you.

Don’t stress. Those folks around your table are not food critics from the New York Times; they’re just your family and friends. And you’ll be a star because we’ve done all the planning for you: every course in this elegant coordinated meal perfectly combines flavors, textures, and colors. Just serve and bow to the applause.

Published with permission from The Quick and Kosher Yom Tov Meal.

While all of the ingredients in the Passover recipes are kosher for Passover, each community has its own customs as to what to use or not use on Passover. Please also note that any processed food must have a reliable "Kosher for Passover" certification.

Passover
I would like to get away from the heavy meals and oil, and other traditional recipes. I agree that the Passover time is more than just food it is time to reflect. Therefore, having guests less sleepy is a bonus.

culinary performance
We all realize that the food is not the most important part of the Seder but why not serve an elegant meal to make the telling even more special.

seder isn't a culinary performance
The seder isn't about showing off in the kitchen, it's about telling the story of the Exodus. The Foods of the Seder table are edible educational props. The food should be good but the story is the main thing.

Hagafen Wine
I love Hagafen wines and the recipes that Ernie has supplied over the years. Thanks for giving him a plug. I am using his Merlot on my roast lamb this year for Seder.
