360. A Time of Silence

A parable:

A father answers the questions of his child and they are happy together, in joyful dialogue.

Then the child asks a question, and the father must think deeply—not just for the answer, but to reach to the essence of this answer so he may bring it to the world of his child. For a long while, the father is quiet.

And so, the child becomes anxious and begins to cry. “Father, where are you? Why do you no longer talk to me? Why have you deserted me for your own thoughts?”

And then the father begins to speak, but this time it is the deepest core of his mind that flows into the mind and heart of the child. Such a flow that with this the child, too, may become a father.

The child is us. The time of silence is now.

When the spirit of Man is dark, when the flow gates of Above seem all but sealed, prepare for liberation.

Thank you for this beautiful message. It helps to ease the heart and fortify Emunah in this world of today.

galut-exile
exile makes to the father, not the son...the silence makes sense to the father and the son in retrospect, now we are waiting for the answer-ooooh we have been waiting to long Father!!!

Silence
This is one of the hardest lessons I have had to learn and it has taken a long time. There is now a deep knowing in my spirit that Adoni is always looking after our welfare. "Listening" with the heart, mind, and spirit are the key ingredients and makes a delicious aroma of our faith in our Elohim. Amen

While He keeps silent...
While He keeps silent is when we must learn our lessons, not losing control in the midst of that anxiety, tears and spoiled impatience.

This is the test that our Father is faithful and loves us and will never abandon us, and that His answer, coming from His core, will reach us and that we will (finally) fully understand it.

teacher and student
Just like the teacher and student.....sometimes the classroom gets a deafening silence....and the teacher is looking towards us...and we look toward him...all the while our minds are questioning him....and all the while he is curious about us being on the same page as him.....and yes, we are curious children too.
Blessings--for the Jews are the Canary in the coalmine for us in the US!

A Time of Silence
Good morning Rabbi Freeman.
The Rebbe, Rabbi M. M. Schneerson knew how to share his wisdom.

As adults it is difficult to just sit and listen
Thanks for the great reminder.

fascinating thought!
Thank you. it is so refreshing to see and feel a message for all of us to further meditate upon that we are here to teach one another and remain not in any one group but act perhaps as an intermediary to another... to perform the service every child within searches for... acceptance... and a feeling of being worth time considering and responding to

Time Of Silence ...
it's hard to put it into words exactly... but it reminds a bit of the time when i lost my dad which will be almost 3 yrs. ago in Feb and it is really hard. i took it really hard since i was my daddy's little girl and he told me he was gonna little forever and watch his grandchildren grow up, graduate high school, college, gradschool, etc... i was so mad at him at first for leavin' me and lyin' but i've slowly come to terms w/it but still im hurtin' but i look at my own children and say i have to live for them love them and don't be so resentful, he wouldn't want that!

time of silence
Yet another metaphor for Gd's seeming ongoing silence.

We have too many such metaphors.

Too many explanations.

Too many excuses.

Humans who have had hard times have heard too many excuses.

And Gd should not need us to make excuses for Him.
