  • 1 can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 2 C. unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 3 bananas, sliced
  • 3 oranges, diced
  • 1 C. toasted pecans, chopped
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg

Mix ingredients and chill.

Name of this recipe 'Food of the "gods"? I know I'm being a bit overcritical here and I did note the multiple definitions for the word Ambrosia, including the 3rd definition being an orange shredded coconut dessert which is obviously fitting for the name of this recipe but since this does happen to be a chabad.org website, wouldn't it be more appropriate not to put up a recipe like this since the name it self brings up to mind greek mythology and idolatry? Either way it's a lovely recipe though.

Dear Zakah.
Chag sameach.

Your above recipe looks and sounds wonderful.
We need your help with this one. As a matter of fact we need help with many American recipes with regards quantities.
The USA commercialized the canning of foods and there are so many can sizes that the rest of the world cannot follow.
Our food cans are labelled according to the weight of their contents i.e. a 420gram can of tomatoes contains exactly that.
Couldn't you please just add the weight (ounces or grams) of the pineapple chunks beside the ingredient 'One can of...'.
So many people simply give the recipe a miss rather than get bogged down in this issue.
This would open up a whole new world of culinary delights.
