No Bake Cheese Pie

This delicious creamy cheese pie is easy to prepare, an ideal recipe for those who do not have a dairy oven. However, the graham cracker crust must be baked in a pareve or dairy oven.

GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST
9 double graham crackers
1/4 cup margarine, softened
3 Tbsps. brown sugar

FILLING
1 cup cream cheese
1/2 cup farmer cheese
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup honey
1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 pint sliced strawberries
or whole blueberries

USE: 9 inch pie pan
YIELDS: 8 servings

Preheat oven to 375°.

GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST: Crush graham crackers in blender until finely ground. Place crumbs in a large bowl. Add margarine and sugar and combine well. Press firmly into pan on sides and bottom. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.

FILLING: In a large bowl combine cheese, sour cream honey and vanilla. Beat well. Pour filling into cooled crust. Freeze for 8 hours or overnight.

Thaw pie in refrigerator for 1 hour before serving. Garnish generously with fresh strawberries or blueberries.

No Bake cheesecake
I was credited with one of the comments posted on 2nd June 2008. I don't remember writing "use anything handy to garnish etc"
although I do agree. I wonder who wrote that part? I also do like being reminded of the significance of the occasion.

In Israel, look for a cheese called Tuv Tam... there are several brands depending on which super you go to, but they should all be called tuv tam which is basically farmer's cheese.

Farmer cheese
I'm not sure whether farmer cheese is available in Israel or not. You may want to ask fellow American expats if they know about that. Farmer cheese is firmer then cottage cheese. You can use ricotta or cottage cheese, perhaps a little less than half a cup.

Use the berries for decoration, but you don't have to. Just sprinkle with cinnamon sugar,
or use anything handy to garnish eg grated lemon or orange peel or chocolate sprinkles.
Enjoy and remember this is our wedding feast with Hashem!

fruit
You simply put them on top of the cake, you can slice the strawberries and lay them down in circles or alternate with the blueberries. Enjoy!

When do you get to use the fruits, and how?
The strawberries or blueberries?

The biscuit crust doesn't need baking.
I use a bit more margarine and melt it in my microwave oven, which is pareve, before adding. Try it.
