The Midnight Lyre

He descended from the heavens like rain
To bless the land and help it grow
More animate in the living, that it might glow
In G-dliness, not merely to regain
The Garden of Eden, but go further still.
After all, the garden was just a garden of
Something more essential; like the dove
Being a symbol of life more tranquil.
Elusive on the midnight lyre, the ear
If like the seashell rim, will resonate
The distant roar of ocean wave, and hear
A note of truth flow in, to contemplate.
Such as, the tallest tree has the deepest roots,
And where knowledge ends, faith yields
the sweetest fruits.
