Yeshayahu - Chapter 18

1. Woe to the land shaded by wings, which is on the other side of the rivers of Cush.
2. Who sends emissaries in the sea and in boats of bulrushes on the surface of the water, "Go, swift messengers, to a nation, pulled and torn, to an awesome nation from their beginning onward, a nation punished in kind and trampled, whose land the rivers have plundered.
3. All inhabitants of the world and dwellers of the earth, when a standard of the mountains is raised you shall see, and when a shofar is sounded you shall hear.
4. For so has the Lord said to me, "I will rest, and I will look down upon My dwelling-place, like a clear heat upon herbs, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
5. For behold the harvest when the blossom is past, and the buds turn into ripening grapes, and he shall cut off the tendrils with pruning-hooks, and the roots he removed, he cut [them] off.
6. They shall be left together to the birds of the mountains and to the beasts of the earth, and the birds shall spend the summer upon them and the beasts of the earth shall spend the winter upon them.
7. At that time, there shall be brought a gift to the Lord of Hosts, a people pulled and torn, and from an awesome people from its beginning and onward, a nation punished in kind and trampled, whose land the rivers have plundered, to the place of the name of the Lord of Hosts, Mount Zion.
