Yeshayahu - Chapter 15

1. The harsh prophecy concerning Moab, for on the night that Ar of Moab was pillaged, it was as though they were sleeping silently, for on the night that Kir of Moab was pillaged, it was as though they were sleeping silently.
2. They went up to the temple, and Dibon to the high places to weep; for Nebo and for Medeba shall Moab lament; on all their heads is baldness; every beard is shaven.
3. In its streets they girded themselves with sackcloth; on its roofs and in its city squares they all wail, sighing with weeping.
4. And Heshbon and Elealeh cried out; as far as Jahaz, their voice was heard; therefore, the armed men of Moab shall cry in alarm; their soul shall cry for them.
5. My heart shall cry out for Moab; its bars as far as Zoar as a third-born heifer; for the ascent of Haluhith, amidst weeping shall they ascend it, for in the way of Horonaim, a cry of destruction they shall raise.
6. For the waters of Nimrim shall be a waste, for the grass has dried out, herbage has vanished; vegetation is no more.
7. Because of the many things they did, and their appointed territory by the western sea, they shall take them.
8. For the cry has surrounded the border of Moab; as far as Eglaim is her wail and [to] Beer-elim is her wail.
9. For the waters of Dimon are full of blood, for I will place upon Dimon additions; for the survivors of Moab is the lion, and for the remnant is the land.
