Author's Preface

The First Will of Rabbi Shalom DovBer of Lubavitch

In His abundant mercy and kindness, may the Almighty lengthen my days and years, granting me both spiritual and material good.

Since no one knows when his appointed time will come, I have decided to arrange matters—to instruct you in how to proceed after the length of my days. I trust that G‑d, out of gratuitous kindness, will extend my days and years, and that I will merit to be numbered among the servants of G‑d.
