The Night Will Shine

There will come a time when the wolf will lie with the lamb, when the night will shine, when those who have died shall live.

But the wolf will be a wolf, the night will still be night, and the experience of death shall remain the opposite of life.

For all these G‑d made for His glory.

I agree to a point but if the darkess will shine that means that there will be no darkness. The principle of duality will no longer exits. Yes the wolf will still be a wolf but the night will no longer be night. and Yes I believe we will be able to eat but not like we do now to survive because death will no longer exist...

Interesting...
"...the positive qualities of each will coincide at once" - interesting. Opportunities not available after death I would guess, for one, would be choice. "Death provides that which life cannot contain" would include, no more opportunity to sin. The wolf and lamb were herbivores on the ark ("word") in the worldwide Mikvah. I would like to bring a little heaven down to earth with, by choice Teshuvah, determined to not take the opportunity to sin, finding peace in the Mikvah, and light manifesting itself out of darkness from judgment to mercy. The reign of Moshiach. Light in the darkness. Joseph in Egypt.

The Dark Will Shine
I think the answer to R.Davis's question is that in the World to Come there will be no eating, no drinking, no marriage, etc. Since there will be no death, therefore we won't die if we don't eat or drink. This is just what I think and I would appreciate further explanation from Mr. Tzvi Freeman.

If there is no death, How will we be able to eat meat? or is it that we will not have that desire anymore?

Will we have the longing to eat ??

For R.Davis
Now we experience life and death as two mutually exclusive states. Then, the positive qualities of each will coincide at once--as I wrote in the note above. Therefore, life will be eternal---because death will no longer be in opposition to life--in the same way that darkness will not oppose light, because the darkness will also shine.

I could not understand the meaning of your last statement, "and the experience of death shall remain the opposite of life". Do you mean death will continue in the World to Come? Aren't we supposed to have an everlasting eternal life? I would appreciate your explanation. Also,at that time what will the wolf eat???

Death and Life
Each has its quality over the other. Death provides that which life cannot contain, yet life provides opportunities not available after death. When "the dead shall live" both states will concur simultaneously.

Wolf/Lamb
I believe the message is a lion with a lamb. I believe there will come a time where there is no darkness. There will only be the light of G-d. There will be no death.
