Focusing Your World

Our advantage as human beings lies in our power to speak, to articulate a nebulous world into meaningful words and phrases. G–d spoke and the world came into being. We speak and bring it into focus.

Our words are the camera that determines reality: According to how we focus, so our world will be. With a small breath of air, we determine whether it is beauty that sprouts from the earth, or monsters growing as large as our imagination.

True, there is a time for all things--even a time to speak in negative terms, to make clear that something is wrong and needs correcting. But there is a caveat to negative words. For if they do not reach their goal, their bitterness still remains.

Speak good words, kind words, words of wisdom, words of encouragement. Like gentle rain upon a dormant field. Eventually, they will coax the seeds beneath the soil to life.

words
I never realized what kind of power words have first in and of themselves and that we have an ultimate responsibility to ourselves and everyone to use them wisely. I don't know what got me thinking on this track exactly but I started randomly scanning my electronic dictionary and had an amazing experience of understanding through the connections of root words and their etymology. It made me wonder about their power in that they have been constructed and used for a specific meaning (which inevitably gets diluted with current culture) and that they are a "energy packet" in that they exist to those that "agree" on their meaning. I think if we realize this, we may be more aware of how we use them and then, there are the thoughts...

hmmm
some people have the gift given to them that enables them to speak eloquently, others have the gift of gab, never running out of things to say as they keep their audience captivated, others can mix the right amounts of humor in balance with their objective slyly trying to win over the hearts and minds of the unsuspecting, many who are deaf are too busy being wooed to take notice
so yes it is true, words have a great deal of power and just because someone has a gift or enhanced the use of their gift mastering how to use them task speciafic, doesn’t make them the model of what is considered righteousness to those in heaven, it should be of no surprise that words hold the key to existence, Sages spoke of ten utterances that created the world, or was it Kabbalist? anyway it takes fewer than that to understand what is raz and the power kept locked away
