The true teacher is most present in his absence.
It is then that all he has taught takes root, grows and blossoms.
The student despairs for his teacher’s guidance,
and in that yearning,
the teacher’s work bears fruit.

It is true. A learning session is probably only as good as the thinking time by the student that follows it. Or, as i remember from another of your Daily Inspirations - the teacher is to teach and then get out of the way.
What i like about these two ideas is their truthfulness. It takes superior teachers to determine how to accomplish these goals.
What is not stated in these truths about teachers, is the requirement for students upon whom is the onus to learn. This does not mean intelligent learners as much as it means motivated learners. No teacher can motivate all incorrigible student. There may be instances where an incorrigible is turned around. There will be more stories about incorrigible students that were not turned around. Not every instructor can appeal to all students.
Twist Machiavelli :
You can teach all people some of the time
You can teach some people all of the time
You can't teach all people all of the time.
It would be a wonderful thing to be remembered, and cherished in such a way.
Thank you Rabbi Freeman for bringing this wonderful thought to mind. Again, you are much loved.
