Intolerance

Intolerance lies at the core of evil. Not the intolerance that results from any threat or danger. Not the intolerance that arises from negative experience. Just intolerance of another being who dares to exist, who dares to diminish the space in the universe left for you. Intolerance without cause.

It is so deep within us, because every human being secretly desires the entire universe to himself. Our only way out is to learn compassion without cause. To care for each other simply because that ’other’ exists.

Intolerence
Shabbat Shalom,
As a small child I am oblivious to the needs of others, just "I" centered. I do see the world as mine.
The logic structure "if A then B" DOES NOT necessarily mean that "if B then A". Careful about extending the "logic flow".
Rv. Freeman, you are the best I have studied. Thanks you

re: Anon in 2008, have you really caught a fish h
" pulling the world apart in all directions".
Truly: what is negative experience? How do we charge an experience with negativity? how do we interpret ideas of "God" who is indeed 'really running this universe' with 'our' nemesis, evil?
Shakespeare had his ideas: Iago & Othello again; but what's good for the goose & not necessarily 'good for the gander' & can they really understand each other?

: Being a sincere 'servant of Ha Shem, i think, definitely involves a conscious decision: full immersion into a ideological mikvah (purifying vessel) water, oil or chanakah light; because, negative experience for those souls who are closed to HIS LOVE is sometimes their unique (re)membering process ... widowed or fatherless...'hearing impaired'
Feeling, keeping and kindling the Memory of Divine Love is difficult for survivors of war or catalysmic climate changes.

i remember those who died in temporal death for the future HOPE to bring about a greater PEACE in the world through all ages

Intolerance
This week has been a wonderful display of people caring for me simply because. With a simple breakdown of my car, my husband having walked away from his responsibilities, the outpouring of love and help truly shows me the love our Creator intended. I am enjoying the writings of this Daily Dose.

Intolerance synonym?
To my naive mind, the intolerance of which you wrote bears an uncanny resemblance to arrogance, as you noted in your "explanation", and may be a development from that state of mind. While we are here to help bring HaShem's light into this world, I do not perceive that it can be done if we are enwrapped in the self-focused image of ourselves as the bearers of the truth and light of heaven; such is not indicative of the humility required to illuminate the world. I may be wrong, as I often am, but lights are often uncovered little by little through the daily support and help we bring to our families and those we know; in a loving and sharing posture having nothing to do with being "chosen", but more to do with being a humble servant of the way of HaShem. Let Him take care of the Big Bangs, I'll merely try to illuminate the lives of those around me if and when I can, gently and caringly.

Intolerance
Just yesterday evening right at the very end of a work day I walked to the office and ran into a person who absolutely not in contact with me the whole day and suddenly he would make a condescending comment about me in front of everybody. I absolutely do not head on with him at any time being careful in my walk in the world but I think just plain my space annoying him, my presence so benign from my point of view somehow irritating flaring up his antagonist. May the L-rd help me to resist that same emotion in me. I pray may He help me with soft words to turn away anger especially I truly did not have them yesterday. (I did react that why he picked on me when I had nothing to do with his course of the day! )

Intolerance
I for one have NEVER secretly or otherwise considered that the Universe (Creation) was my sole possession. HASHEM shared, shares and will continue to share His Creation with all - who am I to deny that and exclusively want it all for myself. Am I the odd-ball, or am I truly trying to be the sincere servant of HASHEM. Anybody want to join me?

wisdom from 2008 I see
and as usual timeless.

I guess my wonderment is at a definition of " negative experience ". We all have different perceptions of wrongs done to us. I have seen the nicest people flip out at what i perceive as petty. I am probably caught doing the same. For example, I see so many poor drivers on the city roads. I started thinking that I am on a different planet. So my mantra has become:

If I don't like the way 'other' people drive, then I should not drive.

Amazes me how bad my memory is, how easily I forget that mantra. It should be so simple , right? Normally i would read your
" Fallen Sparks " , but I already feel enough personal shortcomings and jaded thoughts. Like is it just me or is there less honor among thieves? This Paterno episode at Penn State is like number 1001 on the list of not doing the right/just thing. And the students are rioting on behalf of this complicit goof! What about the victims and their families ? It's on his hands. Too few care, including Paterno!

But who has compassion to other religions, group, nation etc. The compassion to us is quite different than to muslims.
