Give a child kind, non-predatory stuffed animals to play with, like sheep, deer, giraffe and such. What the child looks at in those delicate years has a permanent effect.

And earlier still: Life starts in the womb. Sing to the fetus good things and speak to it kind words.

This is SO true. We sometimes do not notice the subtile things that set the stage of a lifetime. Thanks for pointing this out...

The Rebbe
Sadly, the Rebbe had no children. And so we have no Rebbe now.

There are two volumes of Bringing Heaven Down To Earth that organize these thoughts by theme into chapters. Available from any good bookstore, on or offline.

I t would be very helpful to have all those beautiful thoughts from the Rebbe, probably put by you in an intlligent and poetic way,
assembled and listed in one place so that we could find them, when needed, only by searching by theme or subject, especially that I can see that each daily dose has a number.
I need a thought for "renewal", these days between winter and spring.
I would be vey grateful.
Thank you very much

I believe, that if a child is getting much love from his parents and others, that he/she can also give his love to others when he/she is an adult.
Not only the kind of material things are important but also the kind of attention and to be there for your child.

Speak kind words in the womb
I did.

And the result was a strong, compassionate child who became a strng compassionate man.

Early impressions...
I am impressed by the kindness and understanding, the Rebbe had.
I totally agree with him.
Mostly I like what he says: sing to the fetus
good things and speak to it kind words.
I did that too. I felt, that the unborn baby
liked it.
But the Rebbe must have been a very tender and understanding and loving father. He could not experience it himself, as he was no woman.
You know, Rav Tzvi, that I never knew about him, and therefore I am much interested in how he was - why people liked him so much -
I don't even know if he himself had children of his own. Had he?
Anyway thank you for telling those (on the first look unimportant) things. I find them very important. It tells me how G-d is.
