A true master of life never leaves this world
—he transcends it, but he is still within it.

He is still there to assist those who are bonded with him with blessing and advice, just as before, and even more so.

Even those who did not know him in his corporeal lifetime can still create with him an essential bond.

The only difference is in us:
Now we must work harder to connect.

Based on letters and talks of the Rebbe, Rabbi M. M. Schneerson

Connecting
Your writings bring alive the great Rebbe that he lives on in our hearts every day. Through your writings you inspire me to be a little kinder, a little more patient, and have faith in HaShem to carry on with courage through difficulties that pale to what the Rebbe experienced. Your writings are a true blessing. Thank you Zvi.

Connecting
I of course do not know the Rebbe, I barely know this website, the history, characters or thoughts or ideas or practices or customs. But this very moment read and post a comment I consider the connecting is already established,. The transcendence is as real from the patriarchs to the beloved teachers and learners and strangers (one stranger would be me), as real as the circumcision of our heart.s? Do I have to try hard to make that connection? Is there anything too difficult for our G-d? Does He make Eve while Adam is sleeping? Am I escaping reality while choose to love Life as I do not know how I am walking in the first place? Is breathing hard? It surely is for the dead but not the living. The blessings of HaShem are upon us all. His mercy endures forever, king David says so. And it is nice to have rabbi Freeman today.

Connection
We have many true masters in this world, and who left this world, and wherever you go he always be there to give you advice, only if you trust and believe in him! We do not see G-d, but we pray and ask for his blessings, and know he will always come through for us!
Thank you, Tzvi.

True!
Very true. It is connection, which is needed to be developed.

Connecting
I love your writing; it's immensely inspirational.

Perhaps a better way of putting the last line would be: "Now, WE must take the initiative of connecting".

May we have Moshiach Now!!

Re: Please clarify
We have an article online that deals directly with this issue. Please see: Is it okay to ask a deceased tzaddik to pray on my behalf?

Let me know if the article satisfies your question.

Re: How?
When you want to connect with a great teacher, you do it through his teachings. That's why we call the works of Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, "The Rambam," the works of Rabbi Shimon ben Aderet "The Rashba," and the same with almost every great teacher who left written teachings behind. The person himself is just a temporal being, but his teachings, that is THE Rambam, THE Rashba.

And the same with the teachings of the Rebbe. Connect with his teachings, make them real in your life, and you have him in his essence.

Connection
Connection seems to an elmental force of human nature, something that we all long for and need in order to build a worthy existence, but there seems to be tremendous difficulty in finding true intimacy and friendship. Although we have improved means of communicating with one another, it actually seems less satisfying than ever before.
