155. Small Things

Great things are not what is demanded from our generation. The previous generations did all that for us. We need only do the small things --but in a more difficult time.

For us, self-sacrifice could mean nothing more than a simple change of habit.

Thanks
As always, my dear friend, these few words arrive with the sweet and the bitter at an appointed moment. Many Thanks.

noah
one of the debates related to the story of Noah is that the text says that Noah was a tzaddik "in his time" does that mean that today he would not be a tzaddik? or does it mean that since he lived in such bad times and was still a good person, that if he were alive today he would be super duper righteous? I think that what you say relates to this in that what is demaded of us depends upon our generation. Perhaps the real question (or an additional question) for the story of Noah is what was demanded of his generation, and how did he live up to those expectations.
