Bringing Heaven Down to Earth

The Rebbe wept profoundly as he spoke these words:

The entire being of Moses was the Torah he brought to his people. The Torah was more than something he taught. It was what he was. It was his G‑d within him.

Yet when it came to a choice between the Torah or his people, he chose his people. He said, “And if you do not forgive them, then wipe me out from Your book that You have written!”

His whole being was the Torah,
but deep into his essence, at the very core,
was his oneness with his people.

but

but what good are a people if there is no upright law? And what greater law is there than Torah?

Thank You

Every day I think of the Rebbe and thank G-d, for giving us our Rebbe. To know what a gift it is to have been born a Jew; to be able to know and understand that a little spark of the Holy G-d'ly spirit can be with us, Jew and Gentile alike, if we want it to be and how to go about having that spark with us, is a gift and blessing beyond comprehension. Thank you so much to G-d, to our Rebbe of righteous memory and to Tzvi Freeman.

forgiveness

Moses, a creation of G-d and the words of
G-d are still teaching us about the power of forgiveness. Where would humans be without the ability to forgive? The power of showing Moses willingness to give up Torah, if there is no forgiveness.

Our Teacher

Moshe response was not a question; it was a statement. He was not asking G-d. He spoke with the understanding of the Torah he had just received: that in its essence must be forgiveness.
Then further: as every letter of the Torah is a Jewish soul, the first tablets brought by Moshe from Sinai, like the Jewish people, were made a broken vessel that could be rectified. Moshe's actions reflected the Torah he had just received.

that is so very interesting

it lets me feel that Moses as our Ancestoral Teacher... He is still here also... in spirit... He never left... never gave up... and somehow does and always will touch our lives.. more now for me than ever... gosh!

this is just such a revelation
