145. Soul Healing

People think that if they are not well, they must sacrifice all meaning in their life in order to take care of their physical situation. In fact, the opposite is true: You cannot separate the healing of the body from the healing of the soul. As you treat the body, you must also increase in nourishing the soul. Doctors know this very well, but they should make better use of the fact.

Based on letters and talks of the Rebbe, Rabbi M. M. Schneerson

Fears
fears seem to get in the way of the healing process of the soul and its work with the spirit connection in life. But I have known people to be afraid mindfully of the whole approach of the spirit to soul approach when it comes to healing-it almost seems as though they don't want to be healed but I'm not one to give up on anyone that easily-so I just go along trying my hardest to give and give and give....That seems to heal me and in turn I pray for the others to follow.

Re: Doctors know
This is not my language. It's actually a translation of the Rebbe's words in a letter to a doctor.

Lets take it further then...good friends.
Mental people, main line drug addicts, intensive care patients, severe alcoholics, serial criminals, many are trapped in mental prisons, mental asylums, mental hospitals, etc. are these folk unable to heal either body & soul due to their inability, medication, fatal habits & or delusions derived from diminishing and illogic rationale ?Moreover; irrespective of the persons status quo, can the soul intervene and help mend the mind & soul to recover completely??? If yes, what proof is there? Lastly is the soul in charge & altering & correcting our sub conscience??

Soul Healing to J Rosin, Largo
Thank you. So true. Ive always had doctors who appreciated this, & verbalized it. I never gave it thought, since it made sense & I believed it. Good U brought this 2 LIGHT. Knowing this, can you help me put it 2 practice 4 myself? Being really down while ill seems to suppress my intellect. I am doing the best I can. At times being less, or incapable, of doing the usual, diminishes my being, my existence. It is difficult 2 shake. Maybe it is part of the ageing process. I recall elderly dear ones, expressing this lesser feeling, when they could no longer do what they used 2. I showed my Auntie, she did it differently, when she used a walker, just differently. When that was no longer possible, I made her aware of the importance of her existence to me, how blessed I felt to have her, & all she had, and always will, mean 2 me. There is no one to do this for me; I am not capable of it 4 myself. For the Soul 2 flourish we must feel needed, we must know what G-D wants from, or for us.

Doctors know
It is presumptuous to say doctors "should make better use" of the knowledge we know well: the soul and the flesh must both be treated. This is to core of true medical practice. Those who do otherwise are not "doctors" . They are mechanics. One can not practice effective and meaningful medical art, without attention to the entire person.

soul healing
this is why we read and pray!! to heal our soul when we are in need, and there doesn't seem any hope at all. we pray for a miracle to happen on all levels. when we are in our greatest need. g-d is our salvation.

healing
The healing of the flesh is for the moment. The healing of the soul is eternal. To sacrifice meaning for fleshly existence is a tragedy. To keep meaning, values, is the only real success

SOUL HEALING
This saying is quite clear and most approachable to me. When one is ill, as I am now, although I know this, it remains so difficult to do. At times, I feel worthless, since I believe I am useless; this also makes me feel less worthy of G-D. Intellectually, I know it is foolish,
I would advise someone gently of this. Since I am being honest about myself, it is difficult to change this mind set.
If only the mind was as easy to convince as the rest of me, what is actually best for it.

3-fold healing
I had shoulder surgery one month ago...it is healing very well and very fast...Praise Yah. After meditating this lesson I found that this is 'very much true about the soul healing as the body does'....I have been in a shoulder brace all this time and before the surgery I was not sleeping...but as my shoulder heals so is my soul...I am sleeping very well.

Soul Healing
We are not created with defective souls even tho our bodies maybe. All life comes from G-d; therefore, we need to seek spiritual nourshment at all times, especially in sickness. It is through illness and bad times that we grow and thru seeking more of our G-d that we can endure. I know this from many, many experiences
