Tzava'at Harivash 23

Tzava'at Harivash 23

E-mail

Before falling asleep lie in dread and fear, agitated and trembling from the fear of the Creator, blessed be He. 1 Thus you will not come to sin, as it is written, “Be agitated and do not sin, [reflect in your hearts on your beds]…” (Psalms 4:5) 2

FOOTNOTES
1. When retiring for the night, one should be agitated (tremble) in fear of God (Zohar III:113b). It is a time of serious soul-searching and stock-taking (ibid. 178b).
2. See above, sect. 9, note 1.
