All the World is my Teacher

The Rebbe would sit down with his students and say, time and time again:

The Baal Shem Tov taught that from every thing a person hears or sees in this world he must find a teaching in how Man should serve G-d. In truth, this is the whole meaning of service of G-d.

G-d as teacher
I'm a bit confused. It would seem then that if the rain falls; we should see G-d's teaching that the clouds were without form til they swelled with rain? This isn't so; but he who seeks to understand G-d may say that it is. In truth; when the world was created; so were the clouds.
Often a child will ponder why the sky is blue. The question should then be answered that the Lord loves his children so much that He made the sky a colour instead of leaving it for us to ponder why it had none.
The rainbow has no blue in it. Perhaps this is so because G-d is thus not only in the sky, but everpresent in everything.
