To become one with another person,
you must first recognize that you are only half.

To become one with the Infinite, you must give Him your all,
knowing always that it is but a broken half.

Based on letters and talks of the Rebbe, Rabbi M. M. Schneerson
From the wisdom of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of righteous memory; words and condensation by Rabbi Tzvi Freeman. To order Rabbi Freeman’s book, Bringing Heaven Down to Earth, click here.

Whole and Half
If one single cell holds everything there is to become a COMPLETE human being, then how can we say that we are only half. We are always whole. We are always complete. This way we can connect with Him with the knowing that we are ALREADY one with the Infinite.
