" Indeed, we were informed by our officers that "Every mitzvah brings Moshiach closer." To understand the magnitude of advancing the onset of the final redemption, one must first appreciate the enormity of each prolonged moment in exile."
May i ask......
The Moshiach was supposed to lead the way to Israel, ........how does this fit in with the current state of Israel?

Miss Muslima: "Moshiach was supposed to lead the way to Israel, how does this fit in with the current state of Israel?"
It doesn't. The Jews residing in Israel are locked in an even harsher exile than other Jews. Their spiritual and physical uncertainty is created by other Jews. Living in Israel is not Redemption or Moshiach at all.
Just one of the many accomplishments that G-d will bring about through Moshiach, is the ingathering. To an Israel that is rejuvenated with holiness, and is under the renewed leadership of the Kingdom of David. The end goal is a situation where the Torah will be willingly kept in perfection. G-d will bless the world with absolute harmony. Does this sound like the state of Israel or describe our world at present? No? In that case, we have plenty to achieve, and Moshiach has much to innovate.
Indeed, after “understanding the magnitude of advancing the onset of the final redemption”, one is more than eager to do an extra Mitzvah, to “bring Moshiach closer”!

Re. Miss Muslima-
Moshiach is in fact the one to lead the way to the Land of Israel in its holiness. The current 'State' of Israel, while it may be some form of a spiritual hint at the upcoming redemption, it is most definitely not the promised 'coming home' and Final Redemption....
