Our pride, our influence, our lofty position above others enables us to lead, control, sway and influence others. Sounds gross (in the true meaning of that word); sounds like hubris. I prefer humility and poise. Giving through charity and the silence (compassion; Chesed) of one's heart, not the influence or power of one's position....
