There is a statue of the Golem at the entranceway to the Jewish neighborhood in Prague. There are many stories about the attic in the Great Synagogue in Prague where the Golem still lies. Nobody is allowed up there and all the guides have something to say about it. Stories are well known in those parts. Fascinating stuff. Reply

Seems like part of the story was reminiscent of the "Sorcerer's Apprentice."

Nicely done except I don't quite understand why we're hearing cockney accents in Prague. Reply

either the SA had its source in this story or both had a similar source. [must say though, some of the music and sound-effects did sound like SA!] Reply

Maybe the idea for security guards at Jewish schools and shuls comes from the golem story Reply

To Harry Gross The radiodrama is based on a book called Niflaos Maharal (in Hebrew) - supposedly written by the Maharal's son-in-law (the Leonard Nimoy character.) Some say it's a forgery, written by the publisher. It was also published in English translation by Judaica Press, titled The Golem of Prague. Reply
