A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
It is in this week's Torah Reading, which relates all the
events immediately prior to the Exodus, that we find the first mention of
Mezuzahs on doorposts--the subject of this week's 2nd article...from a
physicist!
As this is taking place in the first full week in the Jewish month called "Shevat", according to (a certain view in) Kabbalah, that means it is time to rectify our eating habits, so read carefully our lead article. Tuesday, 4 Shevat, is the yahrzeit of Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzira, or the “Baba Sali,” as he was affectionately known throughout the Jewish world (see http://www.kabbalaonline.org/1736193 ); tens of thousands of people are expected to converge at his resting place in Netivot this week. Next week: Special TU B'SHEVAT edition |
