A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
This week we study the first of the eleven readings in the Book of Exodus.
The significance of being in Egypt and leaving it is discussed in the 2nd article. The lead article delineates the pivotal role and personality of Miriam, the sister of Moses, who is also featured in this week's Reading. Several names of G-d are introduced in this week's Reading and next. These Names are the theme of articles 5 - 6. Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon (Rambam, Maimonides) and the great Moroccan Jewish Kabbalist, Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira, both have yahrzeit this Tuesday night-Wednesday; and Rabbi Shneur Zalman, the author of the extremely important mystical primer, Tanya, has his on Saturday night. They are the authors or the subjects of articles 3,4,7. |
