Daily Zohar - Shelach Day 6

Based on Zohar Shemot 203b

Audio Download:

Come and see: on Friday, when evening sets, a shining star [of the kelipa] comes from the north [it is the kelipa Storm Wind,1 from the side of gevura, north corresponding to the left2] with seventy other stars [the power of the 70 ministers of the 70 nations]; the star smites [by illuminating] these [other] stars, which become incorporated in that star and all seventy become one. That star then expands and turns into a blazing flame [of strict judgments] on all sides [these judgments being too strict to be rectified, they must be stored away]. This flame is extended across a thousand [hinting to chochma] mountains [the sefirot of netzach, hod and yesod are in the secret of mountains when drawing down chochma], and stands like a thread encircling them [i.e. this star encircles these 3 sefirot, to be nurtured by them].

And this flaming mass draws to itself other colors [from netzach, hod and yesod] that are inside it. One color is green [related to the green shell, the inner peel, of the walnut, the secret of the Storm Wind]. When this color is established, that flame of fire jumps upon this green color and enters inside it; it then throws the green color outward. The green color stays out, and the flame of fire of that star is inside.

Afterwards it draws to itself a second color, white [related to the hard shell of the walnut which is white and relates to the Great Cloud]. This white color shone inside, but after that color is established, the flame of fire of the star rose, expelling the white color, and entering inside. The same procedure transpired with all the other colors. It threw them out, went inside and approached the hidden point to receive light [and flow].

BeRahamim LeHayyim: What does the above mean to you, and why is it revealed to you now?

This is a selection from the "top secret" Shabbat manual! It paints a wondrous picture of supernal celestial changes that occur every Friday afternoon as the sun is setting. Just as Shabbat can be considered the center of the week, with Sunday Monday Tuesday on one side, and Wednesday Thursday Friday on the other, so too exists a spiritual Star related to Shabbat which is at the center, and which subsumes all other elements from the days of the week.

Make Shabbat your center, and She will make you Her center.

1. In the prophet Ezekiel's vision of the Divine chariot (Ezekiel 1:4) in which he saw and described the forces that conceal G-dliness, they are described as “a Storm Wind,” “a Great Cloud” and “a Flaring Fire,” representing the three wholly unclean kelipot.
2. when facing east, traditionally the side of holiness
