The Inner Power of Passover
 |
From that moment, there was no longer any force in the world powerful enough to keep a Jew from connecting with G‑d. No force in the world. But inside the Jew—that's a different story...
You wrote: the souls of the generation that left Egypt will be reincarnated in our times - But they were evil people who were punished by God with lightning and then left 40 years in Sinai. It seems that the same evil people are back...not surprising.

The entire Jewish people is one - even though we may not always think about it that way. True, there was evil in that generation - as there is, unfortunately, in this. True, there was punishment, or, if you prefer (I do!) purification in the desert and beyond.
But chassidus explains that all of that evil, whose core is really the belief that we are separate and alone, is part of G-d's plan - there so that we can tranform it into goodness and light; illuminate it with the authentic realization that there is nothing but G-d. That's what it means to create a dwelling place for G-d in the lowest worlds.
Does it mean we aren't responsible? Quite the contrary. In fact, the reason we're all back again is so that we can meet that responsibility. It's part of our purpose on earth in this last generation to realize where we were off then, take it personally, and do what it takes to correct it once and for all.
Once again, we're all one. That means that whatever went wrong, I can find a piece of it in me, here and now. And that's the piece I have the power to transform.

Each of us experiences our own Exodus. We often spend a lifetime wandering in and out of our personal issues and life lessons....searching for mental and emotional freedom. In the end, like our ancestors who traveled with Moses, we are required to have faith and trust in G-d. Therein lies what we are seeking. Knowing it is one thing. Living it daily requires a lifetime of practice.
