Our family listened again tonight, several days after Dedication, and we all ate latkes, (with LOTS of sour cream!) May G-d be gracious to Jerusalen and grant His peace to Israel forever!!
I used this recording, along with some of the music recordings, to help teach my class about the story of Chanukah. It was entertaining and educational. Thank you.
I was so blessed listening to this story today. What an awesome testimony to the glory and power of our wonderful and loving God. Thank you so very much for making this available and sharing the story of such wonderful faith and strength.

I enjoyed listening to history of the Maccabees, and the Victory. My heart was so stirred for the season.

My name is Riza, i am interested and amazed to the page designed and made in celebration of hanukkah. this is a very special day and a moment especially when we are at a new century of millenium. hanukkah in the twenty first century is special and has a ritual meaning. The beautiful telling of the story of Chanukah makes my Tshuva all the more beautiful. Thank YOU,

Its amazing to hear that of the tyranny and brutalism of the past. I am Jewish but many of these historical accounts are new to me. I found this information educational and enlightening.

My name is C.T. as a born again believer this will be the first year, that I will be celebrating Chanukah in the truth and the miraculous blessing of this holiday season where a Sovereign God released a miracle to His people. I give praise to the God of Israel for HIs countless blessings and protection to His covenant people.

I loved hearing the story of the Maccabees it was so much easier then trying to read it. Thanks for providing such an interesting story. I loved it. I am not a Jew but my family celebrate chanukkah as Christmas is so self indulgent whereas this is very spiritual.
I am Jewish, but was raised christian. I know I am a chosen vessel . I am , for the first time, observing Channukah. I wish I could meet more seasoned Jewish people.
Lynne could we hear your story?
This is a great way to learn.
As a long time fan of 'Old-Time Radio' Broadcasts, I found your rendition of the story of the Maccabees thoroughly enjoyable and well in keeping with quality productions. I look forward to hearing more of the same in the future.

Thank you,my family are from Russia, Rumania, I was never adopted by the people that raised me. I was raised Christian. Went to Bible college. I met my Jewish family at 15. A few years ago I began feeling a pull towards my roots. I have continued to learn at a slow pace. I really would like to have a Jewish friend. Our family just observed our first Chanukah together. We had a wonderful time. We will continue to do so. I hung my mezuzah before Chanukah. I really need help with the daily observances. I am stumbling, but I know my G-od will help me, as he always has. He has performed miracle, after miracle through my life. Too many to name. Thank you,
Looked up my birthday & a miracle on that date was the Miracle G-d performed for the Maccabees at Channukah Praise His Name in all the earth!
Though I am a Christian, I find the story of the Maccabees inspiring, and the tradition of Hanukkah a delight to enjoy with so many of my Jewish friends. It is a tradition, and an observance, which speaks deeply to all of us in our desire to worship G-d.

You obviously are online with Chabad, and you can see if there is a Chabad center anywhere near you. But if you stay online, you will get so much information and so much learning. The Chabad.Org website is amazing and even with my Chabad center near me, so that I can attend classes and services, I still get so much from this website. There must be some Jews in Utah who you could connect with. Keep trying; I know you'll find a friend, or a Chabad center. The Chabad centers are amazing and will provide you with so much spiritual guidance and acceptance. Be well. Happy Chanukah.

I am a Catholic and I appreciated the story to explain the Channukah miracle. Peace and light to all. Thanks
Really enjoyed the audio. Is there a way to copy or dowload the adio? I would like to play it during Hanukah and my computer is not near where we do our celebration.
I was born on Chanukah and it's my favorite holiday. Wonderful! thanks for this!
Happy Chanukah to all!
Thank you! This selection cannot be downloaded due to copyright concerns, however you can purchase the tape at this link.
thank you Jan for the reassurance that I will find someone in Utah. It is difficult here at best. We are now celebrating our second chanukuh, and what a wonderful time we are having. Thank G-d. Shalom,
It was so inspiring to listen to a "real" story about Chanukkah that tells the truth about what happened instead of focusing on the cute little myths. May the spirit of the Maccabees live on in all of us during these times. I would love to teach this play to our synagogue's children--how do I get a script?
please tell me how I can order this tape I could not find it on your website
Lynne...I hope by now you have been able to make some contacts. Have you contacted Chabad.Org to see if there are any Chabad centers near you? There certainly must be something. Even if the center is not close enough for you to attend regularly, you can be in touch and go from time to time. They can probably tell you of other Jews in your vicinity. Have a very Happy Chanukah!

I am not Jewish but found the Miracle of the Maccabees very enlightening. This was an excellent presentation.
I am not Jewish either, but I love Israel and her people! I was crying from the beginning to the end! Wow, to see what G-d's people had to endure, suffer, and have overcome!
Happy Chanukah!!!
I am not a Jew ,your G-d will be my G-d , your people will be my people. The presentation of the Miracle of the Maccabees was excellent. I will be better prepare with knowledge as I attend my 3rd celebration of Chanukah tonight. Thank you & Shalom
I am not a jew but i am a christian who loves the lord and his jewish people. Your presentation have made me more aware of the festival of lights and its meaning. I know that i am grafted in and would certainly be celebrating chanukah with more enlightenment. We love and wish you happy chanukah. Shalom

What a delightful way for my family to be reminded of the powerful story of Hanukkah!
The audio was so well done, very entertaining, and engaging.
I am a Jew thank G-d and I am very pleased with this audio. It is amazing! I am a 12 year old homeschooling girl. I teach parsha (the weekly Torah portion) and I teach chanukah class for 6-8 year old homeschooling girls for free. I let the girls listen to this story while they color.
What a great way to understand Jewish history. I am proud to be a Spanish Jew in this wonderful world. Thank you for sharing this to all.
My son and I are gentiles who observe a life of Judiasm for the last several years. It came to life the story as we lay on the floor and listened intently. Thank you, it was such a blessing! We are happy to be grafted into the the house of Israel and to celebrate this holiday with you. Baruch HaShem!

I remember as a kid listening to this tape, to this day my family still quotes this tape in our daily talks
I am Jewish, I love this story of the Macabees and have read about it.I love the Jewish people and Israel is the most beautiful country in this world.
how can i get a written copy of this script. we need a script for a channukkah play for our temple in West Palm Beach,fl.
We wrote and produced this nearly 30 years ago (time flies when you're having fun) and as far as I know there is no longer a written script extant. I'd suggest that you simply transcribe the dialogue from the audio dramatization - or have the students do it themselves. It shouldn't be too daunting a task if it's divided up among them. (And invite me to the performance - I'm not so far from West Palm!)
Why did the Jewish Bible end? Why is this great story not in the Bible when it is so important in Jewish culture?
The Bible is not a mere collection of stories. Rather they are prophetically inspired works. The last generation of prophets were those who began to prophesy before the First Holy Temple was destroyed in 423 BCE, though a number of that generation survived the 70-year Babylonian exile and lived to see the building of the Second Temple. It was they who wrote the last books of the Bible, such as Ezra, and Chronicles.
The question remains, however, why there was virtually nothing written on it in the Talmudic work known as the Mishnah. Why was this? I suggest that you have a look at What Happened to Tractate Chanukah?
Whenever I hear this I have such a strong urge to weep. What an immeasurable debt we owe to G-d's chosen nation of faithful Jews for being willing to lay down their lives to preserve the precious Torah of Adonai. Baruch HaShem!
Thank you. (30 years later)
