Laws & Lore

From The Book of Our Heritage

The Mitzvot of the Festival
None of the festivals is as rich in mitzvot as is Sukkot. Its mitzvot include: building a sukkah and dwelling in it, the four species, the water libation ceremony, the taking of the willow on Hoshana Rabbah, and the specific commandment to rejoice.
Chol HaMoed - The Intermediate Days
The six days between the festival of Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret and the five days between the first day of Passover and the last day are referred to as Chol Hamoed.
