The 120-Day Version Of The Human Story

It's all there: the underpinnings of creation, the saga of human struggle, and the ultimate triumph which arises from the imperfections and failings of man -- all that was played out in a four-month period...

The 120 day verson of the human story.
There is so much wisdom in this article! May HaShem grant us all the insight to see how our silly pride decieves us into thinking we have arived and are above the "sin of the golden calf"! It is all around us in the cultures of the nations where we live. How can we escape it? Talk about being called to refine our character, wow! It has bothered me to no end that the movie "Brokeback Mountain" was shown in a synagogue! I know we are not to judge and to look upon all with mercy and lovingkindness. Yet I am grieved with how easy we in the disporia run to see what the gentile cultures proclaim as enlightening, and acceptable because it is simply "nature" and the human element in it is wothy of praise.

In referrence to the comment from our friend in Escondido, California; "I know we are not to judge".... Then do not. Leave it at that. That is all that is needed to be said.

Judge We Must
We as G__d's children must judge between righteousness and evil. As parents trying to raise a righteous generation, we must judge and teach the difference. The "golden calf" is real and so is the law. You judge and choose. You judge and teach.

120 days
A direct hit to my soul. It resonates and now resides there, and one day I may even understand its full meaning. For now it is enough that I see meaning and purpose and yes, even hope of return to the arms of G-d, in these words. I am a Yom Kippur baby, as was my grandfather. G-d willing I can begin to walk toward, rather than away, from that searing challenge. A few years ago I knew nothing of the Rebbe. Now his words are my lifeline. In gratitude,

The Day of Atonement
Excellent explanation, I am pleased to know that G_d is our friend, that we can count on him and that we can build a nice relationship with nothing less and nothing more than with the Creator... can you imagine a whole universe of complexity opens for me today with this inspiring article. Thank you.
