Accusations

"Don't tell me how to raise my children!" he shouts at her. Clearly, she hasn't yet cured him of his tendency to raise his voice. He's now yelling at her, as well as the children...

respect
Children respect a father for how he behaves and not because their mother defers to him.

A woman who needs to "cure" her husband of behavior is an enabler. We do not have a responsibility to "fix" a husband.

A man is responsible for his own behavior .

abuse
in the moment it's so hard to stop myself from trying to stop the verbal abuse

but I know that if I interfere, he escalates...

it's better to hang back and just pray for my children to not be emotionally hurt irreparably

holding back is a real challenge for a mama bear and yet rebuking him in front of the children is just doing the same thing
to him that I am trying to stop him from doing to the kids

codependenc
There is a very big difference between restraint and feeling responsible for "curing" a husband. If you really believe your children benefit from their mother being codependent than forget the rabbi's and get professional help.

adult behavior
Of course he escalates. You are telling him when he does you will backdown.

You are reinforcing his negative behavior.

Please grow up - your children need at least one adult in the home. G-d trusted you to bring lives into this world and it is your duty to protect them, not make excuses.

you are abusive too
your comments to me seem to be exactly what you are talking about -
Think before you speak is what this article seems to be saying. Think before you chastise another human being.

your comments in response to my comment make it hard for anyone to want to write a comment at all
