Kosher Store Opens in Lenin’s Birthplace

Jews living in and around the birthplace of Vladimir Lenin now have a one-stop shop for all their kosher needs in the form of a new store opened by Rabbi Yosef Marozov, the chief rabbi in the city of Ulyanovsk, Russia.

Marozov, who together with his wife Sara came to Ulyanovsk as a Chabad-Lubavitch emissary in 2006, opened the store to provide kosher meat, dairy products and dried goods at an affordable price and to educate the local population about how to follow the Jewish dietary laws.

Says a resident: “This is a wonderful new direction in the life of our community.”
