Brother of Mumbai Rabbi to Light NY Menorah

As part of the thousands of events taking place worldwide to usher in the eight-day holiday of Chanukah, the Chabad Center for Jewish Life in Merrick, N.Y., is hosting hundreds of people for a Chanukah Wonderland at a local golf course.

Featuring a whole lineup of activities for children and adults of all ages, the Dec. 21 carnival will be followed by a parade of menorah-topped cars through the city.

At 4:15 p.m. local time, Rabbi Avraham Holtzberg, brother of Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg - the slain director of the Chabad House in Mumbai, India - is expected to light a giant menorah at a Long Island park and speak about the self-sacrifice of his brother and sister-in-law Rivka.

Similar programs will be held all across the globe throughout the week.
