Moscow’s Jewish community commemorated International Holocaust Remembrance Day during a ceremony at the Shaarei Tzedek social welfare center in the heart of the capital.
The Jan. 27 service began with a reading of Psalms and a memorial prayer for the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, and included a lecture on the experience of Russian Jews during World War II.
Many Holocaust survivors are among the thousands of people served by the Chabad-Lubavitch run Shaarei Tzedek center, which was founded by Russian Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar.
