Divine light descends into vessels;
this is how G-d gives existence to the world.

The vessels conceal the light;
this is how the world conceals His existence.

Positive actions draw down an even loftier light;
this is how His essence is revealed.

Two men who had not seen each other for 30 years meet up:

"My whole life I have worked to be in the limelight, to be a someone, and I have remained ordinary."

Said the other, "I am jealous, my whole life I have tried to be humble, a nobody, and I have not succeeded."

The Torah's future is dependent on the child within.
She questions every detail, yet accepts every word as truth.

Man is a mirror.
The good one perceives in others is a reflection of his own character.

The leap of faith is a total departure of self from physical limitations.
The higher the reach, the greater the impact on return.

Even when perched at great spiritual heights,
we must be ready to forego our own high, and fly off to help another.

Everything descends from Above,
but man must fashion the receptacle.

The wider the receptacle, the sweeter the blessing!

Like man, the moment of dawn exists on the threshold between darkness and light.
What does this teach us?

The moment always transforms into day shining a new light on the world.

Man's greatest gift is the ability
to take hold of his thought, speech and action and
place them in the realm of holiness.

"Where a lantern is placed,
those who seek light gather around - for light attracts."
(The 6th Lubavitcher Rebbe)

Growth is not from the seed.
Within the seed is the ability to arouse His power of growth.

Similarly the performance of a mitzvah elicits His essence,
drawing down blessings of spiritual and material growth.

When one studies Torah, the question is not “what will he uncover in the Torah,” but “what will the Torah uncover in him?”

The Zohar asks, “Can a Jewish soul become disconnected from its source?”

The Midrash answers, “Throw a stick into the air, and it will always fall back to its place of origin.”
