Dear Friend,
We have a crisis.
We just received this email:
|
I am a single mother of a three-month-old. A series of events has left me completely penniless and suddenly my landlord wants me out. I never dreamed I'd be in this predicament and am beyond myself. Your site and teachers guided me during my pregnancy and childbirth. Please can you help guide me through this?...
|
And a little while earlier this:
|
My baby has a heart defect and is also hydrocephalic. The doctorsaren 't sure if he'll make it or whether his brain will function in a normal way... I'm terrified and pray that G-d will be with me...

These are among the hundreds of emails we receive daily, from people of all walks of life and across the societal spectrum. Each is lovingly and sensitively responded to by our crack team of scholar-responders.
Hebrew School kids, research fellows, women seeking community and support for life's most important issues, entrepreneurs, teens looking for meaning, politicians, prisoners, new parents, the newly bereaved -- each is individually responded to by our caring rabbis and counselors, who provide moral support, encouragement, scholarly insight and spiritual guidance to those in need.
At the same time, our editors and designers work at a feverish pace employing state-of-the-art technology and interactive tools to create new sections -- both "written" and multimedia -- to meet the needs of an ever more demanding and diverse public, empowering Jews of all ages with the tools and information of the Torah.
From Wall Street investors seeking a Daily Dose of spirituality to college students working through their relationships, couples planning their Jewish marriage to isolated Jews in Malaysia and Tanzania, at Chabad.org we serve on Judaism's front lines – 24 hours a day, all year round.
However, in so doing we face a crisis of our own.
100% of Chabad.org's funding comes from its dedicated users and partners. In order for us to continue our work, and in order to keep creating the many new sections and features so many of you have asked us for -- for which we need to increase our human and other resources -- we need your partnership. We simply cannot do it without you.

Sincerely,
